Appointment Information

Processing Time

American General appointments take approx. 14-21 business days to process depending on the state. Agents will be notified via email when their appointment has been completed.


Checking Appointment Status

Log into the eAgentCenter to view the status of each of your appointments.

If your carrier ID number contains a “P3 code” it means that a complete packet was provided to the insurance carrier. AHCP is waiting on your appointment confirmation.


Adding Non-Resident Appointments

Agents should provide their non-resident license copies to AHCP with a request to add the appointment to their American General record.


Adding a Corporation

Agents should become appointed as an individual producer. Agents can then assign their commissions to their corporation by completing an assignment of commission form. AHCP will pay all future commissions to the tax-id provided by the agent.


American General Website Registration

Please go to and register as an agent. This site will allow you to:

  • Order supplies
  • Download marketing materials
  • Check commission statements
  • Follow up on pending business and correspond with the home office through the message center.
  • Track your inforce book

Agents can run quotes in the following way:

Electronic Agents can manually submit application through the “Start Illustrating” tool after completing the econnections registration.

Check Application Status

To check the status of your submitted applications…

  1. Log into estation
  2. Go to the “Underwriting” tab and click on “Pending”


View your Book of Business

To view your book of business:

  1. Log into estation
  2. Go to the “Inforce” tab and click on “Inforce Lookup”
  3. Search by date, name, or policy number and you can also view lapsed or inactive policies.


American General Commission Information

Who processes commission- AHCP or the carrier?

AHCP processes American General commissions internally. Commission statements are stored in the eAgentCenter.


Advance option details, including interest

3, 6-month or 9-month advance, no interest. A one-time 3% admin fee will be charged on the gross advance amount.


Commission Cycle

New Business Commissions

Commissions are paid when a member’s premium is collected and posted by American General. New business commissions are processed weekly.


Earned commission cycle

Earned commission and renewals are processed once a month, the middle of the following month.
