All agents must complete contracting paperwork and return forms to the AHCP contracting team.
How long does it take to get appointed?
Approximately 10 days once completed paperwork, and all required certifications are received by the carrier.
If a broker plans on selling Medicare products they must complete the online certification process through the BlueShield of California portal. Prior to completing the certification, they must digitally transmit their AHIP certificate to BlueShield of California by logging into the AHIP web site. Once they have transmitted their AHIP then they can go to the BlueShield of California portal and complete the Medicare test. The Medicare test consists of 30 questions (20 for MAPD and 10 for PDP). Once they pass the test then the broker will be able to print a certificate for each aspect of the test.
